New Hampshire needs moderates
Reading the article by Josh Rogers about the tension on display in the Democratic Party, I hope the Democrats plan on a winning strategy and not making their base happy. The candidates who want to go way left are not going to win in a state like New Hampshire. As an independent, I am sick of how corrupt and callous the Republican Party has become, so I can be persuaded to vote for a Democrat if they are a centrist candidate.
If Democrats want to win, they need to stop trying to go far left and engage with independents and ask what is important to them. If they pick up independent voters along with their base, they will win and win big. The base may not be happy, but will still vote for a centrist Democrat over a Republican. If Democrats go far left, I think independents who are done with the Republicans will stay home and not vote for either party. We need centrists on both sides of the aisle, but the current Republican Party has exterminated almost all of the centrists. Now is the time for centrist Democrats to rise up and take power.
