An adult male was injured during an officer-involved shooting in the North Country town of Milan.

Officers with the Berlin Police Department reported to a house on West Milan Road on Thursday evening, responding to a resident’s request that police remove an adult male from the home, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.

During the course of officers’ interaction with the unwanted male, “gunshots were fired and the adult male was injured,” according to the attorney general’s office. A news release provided few further details but confirmed that the man is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.

The attorney general’s office and New Hampshire State Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, which poses no known threat to the public at this time.
