The Bow Brook Women’s and Girls’ singles tennis tournament started and concluded Thursday afternoon, with Karen Craver taking the top spot after four wins.

The small tournament of five players played a round robin-style tournament in the heat to claim a title on clay.

Craver, Jana Ford, Sarah Pratt, Roshini Arekapudi and the youngest of all, Alana Lewis, put their skills to the test. Ford finished in second place with three wins on the day.

It was a momentous occasion for the club and the women as it crowned an individual woman as city champion for the first time.

One more title remains to be settled this month, as the Men’s B singles and doubles tournament is scheduled to be held from Sunday, July 19, through Sunday, July 26.

To enter, a player must be rated at 3.5 or lower and have not previously won either the City A or B Tournament, and it is open to all Bow Brook members and residents of Concord or its contiguous towns.
