I am writing to enthusiastically support Carleigh Beriont’s candidacy for Congress in NH’s 1st District. In a field of qualified candidates, Carleigh stands apart for her proven leadership and unwavering commitment to working families.
A union organizer, educator, chair of the Hampton Selectboard, and Harvard lecturer, Carleigh Beriont has not just talked about community — she has built and fought for it. She understands local government, working people and what is at stake.
As a retired educator and New Hampshire taxpayer, I have watched employee insurance costs spiral out of control, driving up town and school budgets and our property taxes. This is not sustainable. One of the many reasons I support Carleigh is her advocacy for Medicare for All. A single-payer system would guarantee comprehensive medical, dental, vision and mental health coverage while easing the burden of private insurance on our municipalities — real property tax relief.
Our current system is expensive and inefficient. Millions of prior authorization decisions each year force patients and providers through needless bureaucratic hurdles, delaying care instead of improving it.
This is not a partisan issue — it is one of fiscal responsibility and fairness. Carleigh Beriont understands these challenges because she has faced them in local government. She has the experience, urgency and courage to pursue meaningful change. I urge voters to support Carleigh on Sept. 8.
