Warner, NH – After a lengthy battle of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease she can finally rest but we mourn the loss of the matriarch of our home, Sarah H. Sanborn on July 7th 2026.
Sarah Naomi was born to Earl and Dorothy (Knickerbocker) Hart on June 11th, 1938 in Etna, New Hampshire. She attended Concord hospital for her nursing training and graduated in 1959. This not only began a thirty year career that she loved but also exemplified her nurturing and loving personality that made everyone who came to meet her feel as though they had made a lifelong friend.
She married the love of her life, Bob Sanborn, on July 1st, 1961, and bought their dream home in 1962. They went on to have five decades of raising their kids, traveling the country, having family dinners, going to church, and biking. They made every moment count, especially after Bob’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Sarah was his primary caregiver up until the end, showing nothing but unconditional love and fierce advocacy.
Sarah spent her last decade enjoying her porch in the summer, warm homemade meals in the winter, and lots of laughter with her kids in between. Welcoming her great grandson into the world turned back the clock to give her some vitality and they have had many wonderful memories together.
Sarah is survived by her children, Lois and Will Sanborn, grandchildren Ashley Sanborn Duquette and her husband Ryan Duquette, a great grandson Jasper Duquette, and siblings Alinda Roberts and Lawrence Hart.
We will celebrate her life at the United Church of Warner on July 18th at 2:00 P.M. to which all are welcome, followed by a family graveside service.
To honor her memory, thank a nurse for the incomparable care they provide, hug your loved ones and tell them how much they mean to you, and really savor the little things because at the end they are your most precious memories.
