What it takes to win
I have followed the letter campaign for Karishma Manzur with interest. I have heard her speak. She is intelligent and passionate.
My concern for the midterms is my primary concern, so I realize I differ from the letter writers.
New Hampshire is not a blue state.
I am very concerned about a candidate who is not accepting money from many groups competing with John Sununu if he and she win the primary. Right now Republicans are drowning in money. Yes, grassroots campaigns have been successful, but as someone who has worked hard for the Democratic Party for ten years, it has continually been a struggle for money and participation.
Chris Pappas is a good man and does share many of Manzur’s ideas. He is more moderate but that is the New Hampshire I have seen all my life. The majority of people in New Hampshire are older and are looking for stability. Although many people express and share concerns about Gaza and ICE, affordability is the issue that will bring most New Hampshire residents to the ballot box. Democrats must outperform Republicans on this issue to win.
