Letter from a concerned citizen
I am a concerned citizen writing to other concerned citizens. I’m concerned about many things, such as the uncertainty all around me — gas prices fluctuating, food prices inching higher every time I go to the supermarket. One day the war with Iran has ended and the next day it hasn’t.
I’d like stability. I’d like to feel that the people we have elected to govern us are in control and will communicate what’s happening to us in a direct and honest way. I’m tired of lies and chaos.
It’s time for a change. But what can we do? How can we as individuals change our highly complex governing system? I’ve asked reliable sources and this is what they recommend.
Become informed. An election is coming up in November that can bring much needed change. It’s up to us to learn about the candidates and vote for the ones who can bring about the change we want. But we must look beyond TV ads.
So how can we learn about the candidates?
We can start with their web pages. We can look up voting records, watch interviews, learn about their world views and become informed about global issues from reliable news sources, such as the Associated Press and Reuters.
And after we find the candidates we feel will make the changes we want, we VOTE!
It might sound like work. But we can do it! We can become informed voters and change the direction of our country.
