Penacook, NH – Reneé Carlisle, 63, of Penacook, NH, passed away on August 19 at Concord Hospital, following a decade-long battle with cancer.
Reneé was born August 20, 1962, in Melrose, MA, to Roger and Teresa Stone. She lived most of her life in Pembroke, NH.
Reneé received her undergraduate degrees from SNHU and her master’s degree from Springfield College.
For 34 years, she worked with vulnerable youth and adults. She retired after 20 years from her career with the State of New Hampshire, where she supervised the abuse reporting line.
In her free time, Reneé enjoyed spending time in Maine, attending church, and going to concerts. She portrayed herself as a prickly person who did not enjoy hugs, had little patience for improper grammar, and hated balloons. Despite her difficult personality (or possibly because of it), she had no trouble finding people who enjoyed her company and cared about her deeply. She was constantly surrounded by friends and family who, against all odds, found her to be a delight.
Reneé is survived by her two children, one granddaughter, innumerable uncles, aunts, and cousins, and so many friends that she considered her “adopted family.”
She was predeceased by both parents, as well as her lifelong best friend, Cyndi Adams Leonard.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Restoration Foursquare Church in Concord, NH.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local Lions Club.
