A new generation steps up to lead

Several months ago, I heard about a young man considering a run to represent London and Canterbury in the NH House of Representatives. Excited about seeing the perspective of younger voters brought to the legislature, I was eager to learn more about him but not quite sure what to expect.

Since then I’ve had several opportunities to talk with Cody York. His desire to serve in the House reflects his deep roots in small town New Hampshire and concern for the challenges its residents face, from the ever-increasing burden of property taxes to the lack of affordable housing and quality health care for all generations. A lifelong resident of Canterbury, Cody has attended public school and has seen how the contributions of hardworking small business owners also enrich the community. At a time when outside political agendas seem to push aside citizen concerns, I am most impressed with Cody’s focus on listening to voters. His desire to understand our concerns and find solutions to problems will make him a strong representative and independent thinker in the legislature.

I encourage voters in Loudon and Canterbury to take advantage of the opportunity to talk with Cody when he knocks on your door, at local events or greeting folks at the dump or transfer station. You can also check out his website (codyfornh.com) or Facebook page (Cody York for State Rep) to learn more about him and opportunities to meet Cody and share your thoughts about the issues that matter to you.
