Burned down to the foundation

When a home in Concord is burned down to the foundation or homes in Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen or Iran are bombed into rubble, they have to be rebuilt. America’s democratic and equal rights promise have been burned down to their constitutional foundations. They have to be rebuilt and it will take years even if there are contractors able to work on the project. Do Americans want to use the same inferior materials like white supremacy, racism, gross inequalities and their accompanying violence, predatory capitalism, misogyny, lack of equal justice for all and fostering a myth about the United States that that limits our understanding of the realities? America is able to be more than a terror state like we have been. We are able to actually live up to our constitution’s promises if we rebuild using the safest and strongest materials possible. Those materials are “honesty,” “integrity” and most importantly actual “equality.” It is time to begin the rebuilding process.
