A woman is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Bath on Thursday evening.
The shooting occurred after officers from both state and local police followed the woman’s vehicle. Authorities had been trying to locate the vehicle earlier in the day, according to initial police reports. When the vehicle stopped near the intersection of Route 302 and Route 112, police said they “made contact” with the woman, who they say was armed with what seemed to be a handgun.
During the interaction, the woman was shot and injured before being transported to a hospital, where she was declared dead, according to information released by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office.
No one else was injured during the interaction. Additional details have not yet been released, as the investigation into the incident remains active.
This is the eight officer-involved shooting in the Granite State this year. The Bath incident marks the fifth death.
