Abbot-Downing Principal Anthony Blinn has been on paid leave since late September, when the district was made aware of a concern, said Superintendent Tim Herbert on Wednesday.

Herbert informed parents of Blinn’s absence in a Sept. 24 email and told them the following day that Danielle Bolduc, who most recently served as the principal of Gilford Elementary School, would be stepping in as interim principal.

He did not disclose any further details.

“The district was recently made aware of a concern regarding the principal of Abbot-Downing School and potential lack of adherence to district policy,” Herbert said in a statement to the Monitor. “An independent review of the matter is currently underway and is expected to conclude soon. As soon as additional information is available, I will share an update with the Abbot-Downing School community.”

Blinn was hired as principal of Abbot-Downing in 2018 after 14 years at Allenstown Elementary School.
