An AirTag pinging at a suspected stash site, a tip from a girlfriend and a months-long investigation led to Andrew Leduc’s arrest in Dunbarton on charges of stealing more than $14,000 in tools, taking a motorcycle and rigging an electric meter.

Dunbarton police arrested Leduc, 47, on Tuesday, after executing multiple search warrants over several months at his Jewett Road home, where a camper also sat on the property. Officers recovered an estimated $14,500 in stolen items, including jack stands, a welder, drill socket sets, batteries and hand tools. They also found a Harley-Davidson motorcycle reported stolen in Hooksett in 2023.

According to the arrest affidavit, its vehicle identification number had been defaced.

In August, when New Hampshire State Police arrested Leduc’s girlfriend in a separate case, she told the investigating officer that Leduc was not paying for the electricity, court documents show.

“Their power got shut off a long time ago and they did something to the box so they can’t tell,” she said. “They’re running the camper, the house, all over stolen power.”

Leduc tampered with and bypassed the electric meter at his home, stealing power from Eversource for more than two years and causing a loss of over $12,000 to the utility.

Leduc faces multiple charges, including theft, common nuisance, receiving stolen property and tampering with witnesses or informants. He was arraigned Wednesday in Concord District Court and has been released on bail, but he is on an electronic monitoring program.

Court records also show his phone calls from the Merrimack County House of Corrections were reviewed. In one call, an unidentified person asked why authorities couldn’t simply let him out.

“I don’t understand that either, buddy. That’s what I’m trying to figure out,” Leduc said over the telephone. “They have nothing else on me other than the motorcycle downstairs, okay? The motorcycle and the power that was hooked up.”

Court records also show Leduc owes property taxes from 2020, and the town of Dunbarton has placed a lien on the property. During the search of the home, police also found methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.
