Can’t buy my vote

Whenever the government sends me money out of the blue, I get suspicious. Last week $90 appeared in my checking account. Sure, I’d heard that Trump was sending Medicare recipients money, but I didn’t believe him because he’s a serial liar.

A few days later, a letter arrived from Health and Human Services of the United States. It bore the famous signature of our president. It included capital letters where capital letters are not called for. It was the most blatant campaign letter begging for me to vote for Trump, even though he is not on the ballot.

My tax dollars paid for that bribe!

I did not need to think very long and hard about what I was going to do with that money. I sent it to the NH Foodbank, because Trump and the Republican Party have decimated the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and with inflation resulting in through-the-roof grocery prices, people need the foodbank more than ever.

On Nov. 3, I will be sending the ultimate message to Trump and his party: YOU CAN’T BUY MY VOTE!
