Maggie Mae

Concord , NH – Maggie 2015–2026

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Maggie, age 11, a beloved companion, loyal best friend, local celebrity, and true lady of leisure.

According to her DNA, Maggie was part Carolina Dog and Dingo, but she was a New Hampshire girl at heart. Adopted at just eight weeks old, she made New Hampshire her home, spending her golden years happily settled in the South End of Concord.

In her younger years, Maggie was an avid walker and runner, logging countless miles alongside her mom. Together, they covered more ground than either could ever count, making memories along the way. From their walks through local cemeteries to appearances on community Facebook pages and even a few features in the Concord Monitor, Maggie was no stranger to the spotlight. She was the ultimate sidekick, always ready for another adventure.

As the years went by, Maggie traded her running shoes for a slower pace, but she never lost her enthusiasm for a good drive-around, especially when the destination involved Dairy Queen and a pup cup.

Maggie was a girl who had perfected the art of napping, relaxing, and simply enjoying life. She never needed much to be happy. A comfortable place to rest, a stolen cat bed, or a car ride with the windows down was more than enough. She was, quite simply, just happy to be here.

Above all, Maggie was the truest definition of a best friend. A constant companion, a familiar face around the local cemeteries, and an icon in her own right. She asked for so little and gave so much. Her greatest gift was simply being there, through every season of life, every mile, and every ordinary day that now feels extraordinary.

Maggie is survived by her feline sister, Lucky, and brother, Binky, who will undoubtedly miss their beloved housemate, even if they would never admit it.

Maggie was welcomed at Heaven’s gates by her beloved sisters, Avery and Daisy, and her dear friend Dylan. We imagine those gates swinging wide open, three happy dogs and one cat reunited, running freely together once again, with no leashes, no limits, and all the time in the world.

Maggie’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire team at Russell Animal Hospital, including the veterinary technicians, front desk staff, and veterinarians, with special thanks to Dr. Brill. Their compassion, kindness, and exceptional care helped make Maggie’s final moments peaceful, comfortable, and dignified. During one of life’s most difficult goodbyes, their gentleness and understanding meant more than words can express.

Although her paws may no longer walk beside us, the miles we shared will forever remain in our hearts.

Rest easy, sweet Maggie. You were the very best girl, and being your mom was one of life’s greatest privileges.

Love you forever, my Boonie, Ange, Princess Angel, and Muffy.

In lieu of flowers, Maggie would have wanted you to take a drive with the windows down, enjoy a good walk, and treat yourself (or your favorite four-legged friend) to a pup cup. In her memory, please also consider making a donation to your local animal shelter, so another deserving animal can experience the love and happiness Maggie knew throughout her life.
