BOWCar show canceled

■The Bow Rotary Club has reluctantly decided to cancel both this year’s Car Show and Concert Series due to the attendance limitations currently in place as the result of COVID-19.

■On a more positive note, the Bow Rotary recently awarded 14 scholarships totaling $22,500 to local youths seeking higher learning. The scholarships varied in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 and were awarded to students attending college or technical degree programs.

■The DCC Book Club will be discussing “Line Becomes a River” by Francisco on Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. on Zoom or at the Vestry.

■The Dunbarton Conservation Committee would like to remind people that the town trails are open in three conservation areas. Don’t count on being able to check your phone in the woods.

HENNIKER / WEAREHearing on cost of parking Monday

■The Weare Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing on Monday at 6:45 p.m. for hearing public testimony and comment regarding 1) increasing the non-resident parking fees from $20 to $40 per day and increasing the non-resident boat fees from $45 to $50 at Chase Park and 2) reducing the Rockland Road speed limit from 35 to 30 MPH. 

■Lunch at the Dump, an acoustic string band playing a mix of traditional and contemporary bluegrass, folk and blues, as well as western swing material from the 1930s and 40s, will be playing in the Henniker Summer Concert Series on Tuesday night from 6:30-8 p.m. Visit hennikerconcerts@henniker.org for more information.
