What was the highlight of your season? The highlight of my season was having a scoring girls’ team. Also, our team became really close friends this season and that was awesome.

Who was the unsung hero of your team? Betsey Lowe was definitely the unsung hero of the team. She was new to the sport, but she was always at practice with a smile on her face. She also improved every race and was a good, strong fourth runner which are two huge accomplishments.

What was the biggest surprise of the season? I think the biggest surprise of the season was how well our girls’ team did. We had four newcomers and only two returners so the stakes weren’t too high. We ended up coming in tenth at states which is the highest placing our girls’ team has had in awhile.

Do you have any sports superstitions? If so, what are they? I always have to wear my Jenspirtation pin when racing, which is a tribute to an amazing person, Jen Norton, who lost her battle to cancer last year. I also braid my hair the same way before each race and I eat the same pre-race meal the night before.

What’s your favorite pre-race meal? Spaghetti, brussel sprouts, steak, and plenty of water.

If someone was going to make a movie of your season, who would play your coach? Who would play you? I can’t think of anyone who could play my coach… There is no one quite like Coach Hayward; he’s the best. I think my friend Jess would be me in the movie.

If you could go to any sporting event, what would it be? Definitely the Olympics. They’re so amazing to watch on TV and I can only imagine how crazy they are in person.

If you weren’t playing your sport in the fall, what would you be doing? Probably hiking

What’s your favorite app? Instagram or Snapchat

What’s your most-played song right now? “You Make My Dreams” by Hall And Oates

Do you have any must-see television shows? “Parks and Recreation” and “Superstore”

If you could have dinner with any three people, who would it be? And what would you serve? I would have dinner with Michelle Obama, Eleanor Roosevelt and J.K. Rowling. I would serve Annie’s Mac ‘N Cheese and Ice Cream Sundaes and we would solve the world’s problems.

If you got a $1 million to start a company, what would you do? I would start a cancer research facility.

If you had to go on a talent show, what would you do? Speak in a British accent
