Tryouts/Registrations

GPS CAFC will introduce a U8 (2012) EDP program and the Junior Premier program for U9-U12s (2011-2008) for the 2019-20 season. The tryouts for both boys and girls will be Wednesday and Friday at the Centerpoint Church Soccer Fields, 139 Clinton St. The 2012-2010 players will go from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and the 2009-2008 players from 6:45-8 p.m. GPS CAFC will also hold tryouts for its U13-U16 girls teams. The 2007-2006 girls will try out on June 10 and June 13 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the South Fruit Street Fields, 121 South Fruit St. The 2005-2004 girls wil try out on June 11 from from 6:30-8 p.m. at the South Fruit Street Fields. New England Wolves U16 full-season hockey team, coached by former NCAA hockey player Greg Lenti, will include 2-3 practices on ice per week, skill sessions all fall with the Wolves EHL Jr. coaches and director of player development Tim Kunes, competition in the NEPHL and United Tier 1 League, use of Wolves video room and JR Facilities, two workouts a week (minimum) and use of synthetic ice at Wolves training center (465 Province Rd. in Laconia). Events

Franklin High School Boosters Spring Sports Banquet will be on Wednesday in the cafeteria at 6 p.m. The event will be an ice cream social and everything will be covered by the Boosters Club. Attendance is mandatory for all spring athletes.

John J. Donovan Jr. Memorial Menโ€™s Doubles Tournament will be held on Saturday at the Southern New Hampshire University tennis courts. All proceeds will go to Advantage Kids, which is dedicated to providing free tennis to New Hampshire children. The tournament format is 7.0-9.0, non-sanctioned, round robin. The cost is $50 minimum donation per team and registration is now open at advantagekids.net or on USTAโ€™s TennisLink.

Hillsboro-Deering High School Spring Sports Award Night will be held on Tuesday from 6-7:30 p.m. in the high school gym. Attendance is required of all spring H-D athletes.

John Stark Spring Sports Awards night for all athletes, parents and family will take place on June 12. The evening will start in the cafeteria at 5:30 p.m. for dessert before moving to the gym at 6 p.m. where all teams will be recognized and Sportsmanship and Scholar-Athlete awards will be presented. The evening will conclude with programs moving into individual classrooms for team specific recognition.

NHTI athletic department third annual golf tournament will be at Beaver Meadow on June 14. Cost for a foursome is $500 and includes greens fees, cart and dinner. The tournament is scheduled to be a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m. and there will be a silent auction, raffle, closest to the pin, longest drive and many other chances to win prizes. There will also be a second golf event, a nine-hole shotgun start tournament at Loudon Country Club on Aug. 20. Cost is $225 per foursome or $65 per person. Sullivan County Humane Society 5K road race through the historic Corbin Covered Bridge on Corbin Road in Newport will be on June 22 at 10 a.m. Race day registration opens at 8:30 a.m. There will be a post-race BBQ, raffle prizes, age-group prizes and overall male and female winner prizes. 23rd Annual Hawks Baseball Camp will take place on June 24-27 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day. The instructional camp in the morning and game camp in the afternoon will have high school coaches and college players working closely with young athletes. University of New Hampshire field hockey team will be holding two summer camps. Session 1 of the summer camp will be June 30-July 3 and Session 2 will be July 25-28. The summer camp sessions are open to junior high and high school students as of fall 2019. Players of all skill levels are welcome. Each session includes four days of field hockey instruction and a full evening program.

The overnight option includes three meals daily and housing in a UNH residence hall. The day-only option includes two meals daily (lunch and dinner). Registration for all events is available online at unhwildcats.com.

Bow High field hockey program will host a World Camp USA 2-day technical skills training camp for grades 6-12 at New England College on July 15-16.
