Rain on top of snow after one of the wettest autumns on record has the National Weather Service warning about flooding from some rivers this week, including the Suncook River in Chichester and the Warner River in Davisville.

Monday’s warning came as details of an approaching storm were still sketchy.

“If the rain/snow line shifts south, less rain and more snow will occur and flood risk will decrease,” NWS said in a press release.

A Winter Storm Warning was issued for northern New Hampshire from 7 p.m. Monday through 7 p.m. Tuesday, and a lesser Winter Storm Watch has been issued for central New Hampshire, including Merrimack County, through Tuesday.

Coastal flooding is also a concern from the storm as is “significant accumulations of wet, heavy snow” leading to power outages in Coos, Grafton, and Carroll counties, which could get as much as 15 inches.
