■The Pittsfield School District has formed a committee to investigate and pursue viable options for tuitioning all students in grades 9-12 to other high schools. Last March, the voters of Pittsfield approved a warrant article advising the Pittsfield School Board to investigate viable options for tuitioning Pittsfield High School students (grades 9-12) to a school out of town, ending the high school program in Pittsfield. The committee has also formed several sub-committees, including budget and facilities, district contracts, Pittsfield course offerings and offerings provided by receiving schools. ■The Dorcas Guild of the First Congregational Church will hold its Christmas Fair and Bake Sale on Nov. 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There are knits, crafts, baked goods, the “Unique Boutique” and a silent auction. The auction ends when the fair ends at 2 p.m. Successful bidders will be notified then. There will not be a luncheon this year and there will be a limit of 50 people in the two sale rooms. ■Sign-ups for Secret Santa for Christmas 2020 have begun. This program provides Christmas assistance for residents of Pittsfield in need. Children must be 14 years of age or under, must be residents of Pittsfield and the parent or guardian that signs them up must have custody of the child. Donations will be accepted until Nov. 30. Call 435-6807 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to apply. Program provides toys and winter clothing, and is fully funded by donations from local individuals and businesses.
