■The Select Board is accepting letters of interest for a Trustee of the Trust Funds due to a resignation. Interested parties must be a resident of the Town of Boscawen. The Select Board is looking to appoint for the remainder of the term which will expire in March 2023.
■High Street Coffee House’s first live music event since 2019 returns on April 1 from 7 to 10 p.m., at the Town Hall in the basement of the Boscawen Congregational Church. Featured performers are the Heather Pierson Duo; Heather is a pianist and singer/songwriter and accompanied by her bassist/partner Shawn Nadeau. They delve into Americana, jazz, blues and folk. The open mic portion of the live event welcomes musicians, poets and comedians to take the stage for two songs or 10 minutes. ■Come join Mary Ellen for a new program entitled “Murder, Mayhem and Misadventure.” Together we will explore the many books that capture our imagination about Murder (meaning quite clear), Mayhem (violent or damaging disorder; chaos), and Misadventure (an unfortunate incident; a mishap). We will share what we have read and get recommendations from each other about favorite books and authors. We will also discuss books that have been made into movies and which ones live up to the “hype”. After the first meeting we will all discuss where we would like to take this group for future meetings. We will meet the fourth Tuesday of each month at 2 p.m., our first meeting is March 22.

■The Friends of Forgotten Children food pantry has opened the building to its clients. The pantry is open on Thursdays, from 9 to 11 a.m. (the last client to check in is at 11 a.m.), closed for lunch 11:30 a.m. to noon and reopens for clients from noon to 7 pm. First-time clients should bring proof of residency for each member of the household. This can be your lease, a utility bill, food stamp or other agency approvals, doctor bills. ■The Town Clerk is now open to the public for indoor in-person service. Masks are recommended for all those not fully vaccinated. Please continue to observe social distancing and wait until you are either called or the person in front of you leaves the office. Please be sure to bring your driver’s license as the clerk is required to see it for all motor vehicle transactions. Vehicle and Dog Renewals may still be completed online. Vehicle Renewal Registration information was mailed to those who need to renew in February, please follow the directions in the letter enclosed and the town clerk will mail your new stickers and registration to you. This only covers vehicles previously registered in Salisbury, not new vehicles or vehicles of new residents. The 2022 Dog Tags are in so please feel free to license your pooch a few months early. It is $6.50 for a spayed/neutered pooch, $9 for intact pooches. Seniors (those 65 years and older) get one discounted pooch for $2.

■The Garden Group has begun holding meetings. 18 people attended the first meeting, which included discussions about topics for future meetings, times for meetings, and introductions. It was decided that meetings will be held at night so working people can attend, but there may also be a chance to hold a separate meeting during the day. Updates are posted on the Webster and Pillsbury Lake Facebook pages.
■In 2016 the Webster Historical Society began its website (websterhistoricsociety.org) which now contains over 50 gigabytes of data including downloadable PDFs of Town of Webster annual reports, town history reports, photos, newspaper articles, vital statistics, diaries, letters, restoration reports, mast wheels, oral histories, and much more. ■Spring is coming. The first Canada goose of the season arrived on March 15 along with a beaver on the lake, and some migratory hooded mergansers. I’m still waiting for the first chipmunks, redwing blackbirds and grackles.
