A motorcyclist died Monday evening after colliding with a van on Bear Hill Road in Chichester.
The Chichester Police Department received a report of the two-vehicle crash around 7:54 p.m.
After arriving on scene, officers observed a black Yamaha motorcycle and a maroon Chevrolet Express van with damage to its front passenger side. The van had been traveling westbound when it collided with the eastbound motorcycle, according to police.
The motorcyclist was ejected into a nearby field on impact and died at the scene. The condition of the driver of the van has not yet been undisclosed.
Members of Chichester Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the area at 7:55 p.m. and closed a portion of Bear Hill Road from Ferrin Road to Durgin Road upon arrival. The area reopened at 11:30 p.m. following an initial investigation.
The Merrimack County Deputy Sheriff and an officer with the Epsom Police Department also assisted at the scene.
The identities of those involved are being withheld as an investigation into the cause of the collision continues.
