Concord High School’s auditorium is back online after an extensive ceiling repair, two months ahead of schedule.

“Mr. Klose and his students are in the space, working, putting things back together,” Facilities Director Matt Cashman announced Monday, referring to high school theater teacher and director Clint Klose. “It is a changed, changed area, and I feel real good about that.”

The Christa McAuliffe Auditorium was closed in September after a piece of plaster fell from the ceiling. What administrators hoped would be a quick fix ended up being a more involved project, one Cashman estimated would involve closing the space for up to five months.

That work has been completed sooner than expected. While a final bill for the repair hasn’t been confirmed, the total is expected to reach the high six figures and be nearly fully covered by insurance.
