Boscawen, NH – Amelia Marie (Paes Candido) de Almeida, 99, “Millie” of Boscawen, NH, and formerly of Danvers and Peabody, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, NH, surrounded by her family. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph A. de Almeida.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Antรณnio and Antรณnia (Simรตes) Paes Candido. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1945. She continued her education at the Modern School of Fashion and Design in Boston.
Amelia was a dress designer and ran a seamstress business for many years and was a long-time member of the Club Luis de Camรตes in Peabody.
Amelia is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Patricia de Almeida of Boscawen, NH, and Robert and Betty Ann de Almeida of Sun City Center, Florida, her beloved grandchildren, Michael and his wife Lori de Almeida, Kenneth and his wife Maggie de Almeida, Sherry and her husband Jay Fernandes, Brandy de Almeida and her partner Vin Ercolano, Shane de Almeida, and Elizabeth and her husband Justin Dube, and is also survived by her great granddaughter Isabella Rose de Almeida. She was predeceased by her sister, Celeste Gomes.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
