The Concord Public Library Foundation is soliciting nominations for the Elizabeth Yates Award, given annually to a resident of the greater Concord area who is actively engaged in inspiring young people to read. This award, presented at a ceremony in May, can be given to authors, illustrators, storytellers, teachers, librarians or others involved in encouraging reading. Please visit concordlibraryfoundation.org to submit an online nomination or print out the nomination form. Nominations are ongoing and will close on March 31.

GoffstownRotary food drive

The Goffstown Rotary Club will hold its annual Love Your Neighbor Food Drive on Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon at Hannaford Supermarket, 605 Mast Road, Goffstown. The drive is being held to help fill the shelves of two area food pantries: Goffstown Network and the Weare Food Pantry. Items in need are non-perishable foods including canned meals such as beef stew or ravioli, tuna, baked beans, soups, rice, pasta, canned vegetables and fruits, tomato sauce, macaroni and cheese. Personal care items are also accepted. The Goffstown Rotary Club meets weekly on Tuesday mornings at 7:30 a.m. at The Village Trestle, Main Street, Goffstown. All are welcome. PenacookCommunity lunch

The Friends of Forgotten Children community lunches will start up again on March 1. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 224 Bog Road, Penacook. All are welcome.
