Cafe Deja Vu will be hosting weekly cribbage tournaments held at the Laconia Elks on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m to benefit the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction. Starting today, the tournaments will be every Wednesday until May 29, except for the following days, Nov. 21 and Dec. 26. Just $10 per person and there are cash prizes for total high scores. HopkintonBarbecue fundraiser

The 2nd Annual Autumn Barbecue at the Kimball Lake Cabins will be held Sept 29. The rain date is Sept. 30 and will be announced on Hopkinton Recreation Department Facebook page. The buffet will be served between noon and 3 p.m. If you cannot stay a grab and go option is available. Cost is $15 adults and $10 for children 10. Tickets can be purchased online at Menu will include burgers, hot dogs, pulled pork, chicken, baked beans, seasonal salads, seasonal desserts and drinks. Live music for your enjoyment so bring a chair or blanket. All proceeds benefit the Kimball Lake Cabins Restorations.

Come paint the inspiring Irish Landscape and tour Western Ireland with artist/teacher Kathleen Jacobs. Kathleen lives in Contoocook at Grounding Stone Farm, (formerly Russell’s Blueberries). ConcordTry out for Chorale

The Suncook Valley Chorale will hold its second Open Sing on Sept. 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Concord High School Band Room. The Suncook Valley Chorale is a non-auditioned community chorus based in Concord. We perform concerts in the winter and spring and in 2019 will join the Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. The Open Sing is a chance to sing through the winter program and to meet fellow singers. There’s no commitment but we hope you will join us in Singing for Joy! The Hopkinton-Contoocook Gardeners are meeting Sept. 17 at St. Andrews Parish house at 10 a.m. for a cooking demonstration and tasting by Liz Barbour ( Non-members are invited to attend.
