Compelling film

On May 3, my husband and I attended the screening of the film Crossing at the Red River Theatres. The movie was brought here by the Lantos Foundation and co-sponsored by the University of New Hampshire School of Law. It is a compelling and raw portrayal of the plight of the people of North Korea. It is painful to watch. One forgets that these are actors, and the viewer becomes totally engrossed in the story of these forgotten people who are sealed off from the rest of the world.

In presenting this film, the Lantos Foundation made viewers vividly aware of the human rights tragedy in North Korea. Through the Committee for Human Rights in North Korea, we in this country can reach out beyond the borders of our lives and become better educated about the dire situation in North Korea, and perhaps we can help in some way.
