OUR ENVIRONMENT NEEDS MORE LOCAL REPORTING

The Concord Monitor is launching its Environmental Reporting Lab, a long-term effort to better inform the community about the New Hampshire environment. To launch phase 1 of this effort, we need your help. The money raised will go toward hiring a full-time environmental reporter.

Please consider donating to this effort.

Heartfelt thanks

On behalf of the Friends Youth Mentoring Program and the many children and families we serve, I'd like to extend a heartfelt public thank you to those who attended and supported the 15th annual golf tournament at the Concord Country Club on Sept. 10. We kicked off the event with more than 100 golfers and 125 sponsors and raffle donations. It was a huge success and raised more than $13,500, the biggest in our history of the event. Support from the local community and businesses helps strengthen our 150 mentor matches and enables us to outreach so that we increase that number more this year and the years to come.

A special thank you to all our golfers, Concord Country Club staff, Granite Investment Advisors, Alan's of Boscawen, New Hamsphire Distributors, Merrimack County Savings Bank, The Rowley Agency, Taylor Rental, Amoskeag Beverages, Sulloway & Hollis, So. Main Street Service Center, Infinite Health Family Chiropractic, Town & Country Reprographics, Say it in Stitches and Nadeau's Subs Salads Wraps.

The Friends Program is proud to be part of a community that values all its children and the inherent potential they hold.
