Letter: Are we really all in this together?

Are we really all in this together? Are we all in this together when the President Who Would Be King ignores his own best medical minds, refuses to follow their advice and flaunts publicly precautionary measures?

Are we really all in this together when the president and vice president do not set good examples or follow the very advice that they wish others would? Are we really in all this together when the president encourages citizens to act rebelliously and encourage them to spread a disastrous virus at the risk to themselves and others?

Are we really all in this together when White House employees get tested daily with tests that are unavailable to the rest of us? Are we really all in this together when our “leadership,” state, local and national, follows their own economic needs and greed and puts millions of American minimum-wage workers at risk?

Are we really all in this together when our alleged leaders ignore epidemiologists and the numbers of deaths of adults and children that will result from inappropriate and inexpedient conduct all in the name of the “economy”? Are we really all in this together when the name-blamers in Washington point to “China” or the “crimes of Obama” with whack-job, anti-science and conspiracy theories?

Are we really all in this together when there is simply no realization that we live in a one-world economy and the United States is merely part of it?
