Patricia Ladd Carega Gallery is pleased to announce our next exhibition showcasing the work of two local artists: Dayna Talbot, “Black, White and Then Some” and Anne McMillan, “The Book as Art.” Join us for the opening reception on August 3 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Dayna Talbot, a multi-disciplined conceptual artist, will exhibit paintings, wall pieces and sculpture in “Black, White and then Some.” Anne McMillan, a book, mixed media and fiber artist will exhibit her books in “The Book as Art.” Both artists employ unique methods and materials to express their creative genius. Patricia Ladd Carega Gallery is located at 69 Maple Street in Center Sandwich.

Dayna Talbot lives and works in Meredith. A graduate of Massachusetts College of Art, Boston and Lesley University College of Art and Design, Cambridge, Talbot is well prepared for her conceptual creations. She explores the dualism of order and chaos finding beauty in imperfection and impermanence. Talbot’s work spans paper, printmaking, sculpture and installations often reflecting the themes of frailty and resilience. Her creations are a testament to her deep understanding of nature and the human condition.

Anne McMillan lives in Laconia. She is a well known book and fiber artist. Well versed in the book technique, McMillan also teaches her art. The book as an art form has emerged over the last 30 or 40 years in the contemporary art world. McMillan brings her distinctive approach of incorporating found objects and natural materials into her books. Her work is tactile. Each piece is an immersive experience inviting the viewer to explore the layers and stories hiding within. McMillan views her work as a “time capsule”, capturing memories and emotions through her books.

Together the both Talbot and McMillan promise a compelling exhibition that will challenge, please and delight their audience.
