The late Richard P. Feynman, physicist, quantum theorist and member of the commission looking into the disaster of space shuttle Challenger, was dissatisfied with the findings as set forth in the commission report as presented to President Ronald Reagan. He prepared his independent observations, published as Appendix F, which concluded, “For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled.”

Boeing, the FAA, every aspiring engineer and the rest of us as well should keep this thought as a rule for living.
