A grand jury has indicted a Boscawen woman accused of texting while driving in a crash that seriously injured her child.

Paige Corriveau, 28, is charged with second-degree assault and reckless conduct in connection with the single-vehicle crash on Interstate 93 in Bow in March 2017. Corriveau lost control of the vehicle she was driving, causing it to leave the interstate and strike a tree, according to court records.

Police said a review of cellphone records shows that Corriveau was distracted because she was texting while driving.

Her 6-year-old child, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon where he underwent emergency surgery, police said. Corriveau also received medical treatment.
