The town of Bow needs a new chair of its Select Board.

Eleana Colby defeated the sitting Select Board Chair Bruce Marshall by a margin of over 200 votes during town voting late last month, adding a second woman to the five-member board. Previously, the board was made up of men before Angela Brennan was elected last year as the sole female member.

Colby will serve a three-year term.

“The knowledge and life experience Eleana brings to the table will be an asset to our select board and I look forward to collaborating with her on the board for the benefit of our community,” Brennan said about the future and serving alongside Colby.

In the Bow school district’s election, chair Bryce Larrabee and Martin Osterloh were both re-elected for another three-year term as school board members.

The election was delayed two weeks until March 28 due to the snowstorm on traditional voting day that led several towns to reschedule.

A total of 1,306 ballots were cast on the postponed election day. Members of the select board will choose a new chair and vice-chair during their meeting next Tuesday.

The other members of the board are Vice Chair Michael Wayne, Christopher Nicolopoulos, Matthew Poulin and Brennan.
