Police have arrested a Hopkinton man in connection with a shooting that sent a bullet through the front door of a home on Golden View Drive in Bow.

Cole Reinacher, 21, was taken into custody Thursday and charged with two felony counts of reckless conduct and one count of criminal mischief, Bow police said.

On the evening of Feb. 15, a homeowner on Golden View Drive was awoken by a “loud bang.” Soon after, the homeowner noticed a hole in the front door to the residence and immediately reported the incident to police.

Bow police officers responded and determined that a bullet had entered the home through the front door before traveling through several walls and becoming lodged in a baseboard heater, where it was eventually recovered.

Police said Thursday that Reinacher was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on Woodhill Road in Bow when he fired several bullets from a handgun out the vehicle’s window.

With the assistance of the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit, Dunbarton police and information provided by residents, Bow police said they were able to identify Reinacher and two other people in the suspect vehicle that night.

“At this time it is still believed the house was not specifically targeted and there is no threat to public safety,” police said. “All three of the vehicle occupants have been cooperative during the investigation.”

Reinacher was released on personal recognizance and is scheduled to be arraigned next month in Merrimack County Superior Court in Concord.
