Watercolor artist Byron Carr of Contoocook will demonstrate his craft at the Monday meeting of the Lakes Region Art Association.

Carr has a long history with art, from drawing as a child to commercial art courses at the Vesper George School of Art in Boston to writing and illustrating his children book, Doodles. He submitted his first fine art piece to the Thorne-Sagendorphy Regional Show in 1993 and won his first award.

He now instructs watercolor workshops titled “Paint Until the Magic Happens” and conducts lessons at his Hopkinton studio.

The meeting and demonstration will be held Monday at 7 p.m. in the Woodside Building at the Taylor Community, 435 Union Ave., Laconia.
