Photo: Christian Science Church gets a facelift

Workers removed the brace supporting the Rose Window at the Christian Science Church on North State Street last week. This 12-foot-diameter framed window features an image of a cross and crown, positioned above the church's front doors. The crew took down the brace to access the interior of the window. Mary Baker Eddy designed an earlier version of the Rose Window based on the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston. Eddy was born in Bow and lived in Concord on North State Street from 1889 to 1892, before moving to Pleasant View from 1892 to 1907.
