A registered sex offender living in Concord was charged Wednesday with indecent exposure after police say he exposed himself through the window of a downtown apartment.

On March 28, Concord police received a report that a man, later identified as Christopher Dastrup, 38, was exposing himself in an apartment window for an extended period of time while looking through binoculars toward downtown, police said.

Four days later on April 1, an off-duty officer was downtown when he observed a man, matching the description of the first suspect, exposing himself in the same apartment complex.

After a three-week-long investigation of interviews, witness statements and additional reports, police established probable cause to charge Dastrup with two prior counts of indecent exposure/lewdness, felonies.

At the time the charges were filed, Dastrup was being held on unrelated charges at the New Hampshire State Prison for Men. He refused the services of a bail commissioner and is scheduled to be arraigned in Merrimack County Superior Court.

Anyone with any information related to this incident is asked to contact Detective Steve Hemming of the Concord Police Department at 603-225-8600.
