An elevator for more than thirty units of senior housing in Concord was repaired Saturday after it was broken for two weeks.
The repair was complete by 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, according to Ryan Stewart of Stewart Property Management, which owns the 55-plus living complex at Horseshoe Pond Place.
At least ten residents of the former Page Belting building, one of two sets of units, normally relied on the use of an elevator to access and leave their apartments, according to Stewart. The outage meant they faced limited mobility and had to call the fire department for help getting in and out of the building.
Stewart noted that help with groceries and trash collection had been available during the outage. These, and other accommodations during an extended outage, are required under the Fair Housing Act.
