Refill your dirt and salt buckets and get ready for a hairy week of weather in the greater Concord area.

Tuesday’s forecast is promising up to 8 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service. The day will start out with light snow, and then ramp up with snow and sleet, possibly freezing rain, as day turns into night. Temperatures are expected to hover in the low 20s.

Wednesday is expected to warm up to 39 degrees, enough of a temperature change to turn snow and sleet into rain before 5 p.m., according to the NWS. Winds are expected to gust up to 25 mph.

Around 7 p.m., temperatures are expected to drop to about 23 degrees, turning that rain into snow. Although that weather is expected to continue throughout the day, less than half an inch of new snow and sleet is expected.

Thursday will bring a brief reprieve, with temperatures around 38 degrees and no precipitation, before Friday hits with an 80 percent chance of rain at night and a high of 41 degrees.

That mid-40s weather is expected to persist into Saturday, bringing with it a 60 percent chance of rain that changes into a to snow in the evening, when temperatures drop to 22 degrees.
