Proof of past rabies vaccination to determine dose. Cats must be safely in carriers and dogs on leashes. Payment is due at time of registration. ■The Pope Memorial SPCA of Concord-Merrimack County is offering Paws to Read, a program for children in Grades 1 to 8 to read aloud to adoptable animals at the shelter. The next session available is March 15. The 25-minute time slots fall between 4 and 5:30 p.m. There will be $10 fee to reserve a session; space is limited. ■On March 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Gibson’s Bookstore Sherry Boschert, an award-winning journalist, visits to present 37 Words: Title IX and Fifty Years of Fighting Sex Discrimination.

■On March 23 at 6:30 p.m., award-winning journalist and author Christine Kenneally visits America and Gibson’s Bookstore to present Ghosts of the Orphanage: A Story of Mysterious Deaths, a Conspiracy of Silence and a Search for Justice.

Artists of Concord: Past, Present, & Future happens on Thursday at 7 p.m. at 266 N Main St. The Concord Historical Society’s program will begin with artist Richard Haynes talking about the late Mel Bolden and sharing images of Bolden’s work. Next, Concord artist Pam Tarbell will share her stories of over 50 years of making art happen in Concord. Concord High students share their work.

■The first and third Tuesday of each month from 3 to 5 p.m., you can pick up free diapers and wipes for your children at The Children’s Place and Parent Education Center, 27 Burns Ave. Just pull up to the building. No appointment is needed.

■NHTI presents Express Admissions Days on Monday. Submit an application for next semester, explore financial aid options, review program requirements.
