Concord Young Professionals Network (CYPN) introduces you to the “Young Professional of the Month,” Siobhan Lofblad. Each month, the CYPN Steering Committee recommends individuals in the community it thinks readers would enjoy getting to know better.

How old are you? 24.

Where do you live? Concord, NH.

Where do you currently work? I am an accounting professional at Wilcox & Barton, Inc. where I handle invoicing, reimbursements under state cleanup funds in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, accounts receivable, and any administrative tasks. Additionally, I am the controller for 2 Home Fitness where I handle all things business-related from payroll to creating and managing our client systems, and everything in between.

Tell us a little bit about yourself. I have been with Wilcox & Barton, Inc. for the past three-and-a-half years. Over my time here I have taken on many responsibilities and grown professionally and personally. In June of 2023, 2 Home Fitness was created and I researched and created the backend system which is used as a place for our staff and clients to book their fitness classes. When I am not working or studying, I enjoy supporting causes that are important to me, reading, and learning to cook.

What’s your favorite part of your work day? My favorite part of my workday is honestly all of it. I am lucky enough to work at a job that I love.

Why do you choose to live in the Greater Concord area? I moved to Concord the day of my 18th birthday and never looked back. I’ve always loved the area because it is close to my friends and family in the Lakes Region, but also close to Boston and the Seacoast. As I have become more involved with the community, I have found Concord to be a very special place with local businesses, a supportive community, and everything you could want from a smaller city.

What’s your favorite restaurant in Concord? It depends on the day, but I am always happy with Hermanos.

What is something you would like to see added or brought to Concord? I would love to see more local restaurants and bookstores. I would love for Concord to be a place where young people want to live, and can afford to live.

Where did you go to school? I grew up in Gilford, NH and graduated high school there. I recently graduated with my associate in accounting from NHTI and am pursuing my bachelor’s in business at SNHU with plans to graduate in the next two years.

What do you like to do for fun? I am part of an awesome book club and have found my passion for reading again. My goal this year is to read at least 100 books. I also love to cook and have been trying to make more food from scratch this year. I attempted a garden last year which was a lot of fun.

Last book you’ve read? I’ve read a lot of books recently but one I will always recommend is “The Great Alone” by Kristin Hannah.

How did you find out about CYPN and how has it benefitted your business or you personally? My company has always encouraged and supported us to go to any local events, and I started going to CYPN in the Spring of 2023 and quickly found it was a place I want to be. It has helped push me out of my comfort zone and introduced me to networking in an approachable way. The connections I have made through CYPN have opened many doors professionally as well. I am a CYPN Ambassador now.

Who is your greatest role model? I have a lot of role models, thankfully, but someone I look up to greatly is my boss, Coleen. She is a self-taught accounting professional who has taught me what it means to be a strong business leader and a strong woman. I wouldn’t have the knowledge I have today without her.

Join CYPN for an evening of networking at Wilcox & Barton, Inc.’s new corporate headquarters on Wednesday, May 15 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wilcox & Barton, Inc. is a full-service civil and environmental firm in New England that is happy to call Concord their home base.
