A Concord man was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison on Thursday for possessing and transporting child pornography, federal officials announced.

Marc Pulsifer, now 45, was first investigated in October 2020 after members of the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a tip that someone in the New Hampshire region was in possession of child sexual abuse images.

During the investigation, law enforcement officers learned that Google had detected potential child exploitation materials, including child sexual abuse images and child erotica images on Google Photos accounts with an IP address that was later traced back to Pulsifer, according to a new release from the United States Attorney.

A Concord detective continued the investigation and obtained a warrant to search his apartment and belongings in June 2021, which led to the discovery of pornographic child images displayed on various electronic media in the home, including on two large-screen televisions, according to court documents.

The evidence was seized from the apartment and investigators confirmed that Pulsifer possessed thousands of child sexual abuse images and videos which were organized in designated folders across multiple devices, backup digital devices and Cloud storage services, which were used to stream the images and videos, authorities said.

Pulsifer pleaded guilty to six felony counts of possession of child sexual abuse images in October and, in addition to his 78 month sentence, he was ordered to pay $9,000 in restitution and will spend five years on supervised release.

“Child sexual abuse image crimes exploit innocent children and cause immeasurable harm thus warranting significant federal prison time,” U.S. Attorney Jane Young said in a statement. “In order to protect children, we work closely with our law enforcement partners to identify and prosecute those who commit crimes involving child sexual abuse images in the Granite State.”

This incident was investigated by the Concord Police Department with assistance from U.S. Homeland Security Investigations.
