For the 11th season in a row, the Coe-Brown Northwood Academy boys are headed to New Englands. Senior Jamie Lano finished seventh individually to lead Coe-Brown to third place as a team, and Hopkinton freshman Maddy Lane finished seventh in the girls’ race to highlight area runners at Saturday’s NHIAA Meet of Champions at Alvirne High School in Hudson.

The Meet of Champions features the top teams and individuals from  all three NHIAA divisions. The top six teams and 25 individuals in each race qualified for New Englands, which will be run in Belfast, Maine, next Saturday.

Lano finished in 15 minutes, 34.72 seconds, with fellow senior Sunny Nomula (ninth, 15:45), Luc Kerouac (38th, 16:30), Keegan Sousa (51st, 16:40), Liam McLean (65th, 17:03), Ben Jobin (90th, 17:37) and Dylan Plowman (122nd, 18:50) rounding out the Bear squad heading to New Englands.

Lane clocked an 18:11 5K, while Hillsboro-Deering freshman Elijah Bodanza (15:48) finished 11th in the boys’ race and Kearsarge senior Molly Ellison (19:00) finished 20th in the girls’ race to also qualify for the New Englands.

Bishop Guertin junior Matt Giardina (15:11.68) won the boys’ individual title, while Nashua South (78), Hanover (94), Coe-Brown (132), Pinkerton (146), Souhegan (170) and Bedford (171) were the top six in the boys’ standings.

Hanover’s Lea Perreard (17:50.91) won the girls’ crown, with Oyster River (61), Hanover (81), Pinkerton (82), Bedford (140), Dover (177) and Exeter (222) punching tickets to New Englands.

The Concord girls (231) finished seventh to narrowly miss out on qualifying and were led by junior Shelly Smith (43rd, 20:09), senior Chloe Gudas (47th, 20:13), Quinn Doherty (65th, 20:41), Morgan Doherty (66th, 20:45) and Gianna Gualtieri (74th, 20:55).

The Hopkinton girls finished 10th (249) and Bow was 14th (371).

Hopkinton was led by Lane, Shaylee Murdough (36th, 19:42), Reese Bove (72nd, 20:53) and Elizabeth Trafton (86th, 21:10), and Bow was led by Julia Hou (63rd, 20:39), Hannah Pawlowski (71st, 20:51) and Lena Thompson.

Coe-Brown’s Paige Murdough (49th, 20:21) and John Stark’s Kayla Barriere (56th, 20:29) were the other top area runners.

The Bow boys (13th, 339) were led by Alden Betterley (50th, 16:40), Aiden Ciminesi (78th, 17:23) and Wyatt Worcester (84th, 17:26), and Hopkinton (14th, 345) was led by Matt Clarner (37th, 16:30), Ben Daniels (47th, 16:37) and Liam O’Rourke (94th, 17:41).

John Stark’s Eli Lemire (31st, 16:22) and Concord’s Josiah Conley (34th, 16:26) were the top area runners that narrowly missed the top 25.
