Letter: Don’t rain on my parade

Monday, December 03, 2018

First of all, please vote for Bill Gardner for secretary of state. Don’t be fooled by dirty politics and big money from other states.

Second, it has been more than three weeks since the elections and the boycott by some of our great, huge Christmas parade. Why can’t we love? Let it go and move on to more important news. They still have to bring it up in Thursday’s Monitor.

I am a Catholic, pro-life, pro-First and -Second amendment Republican, and I know where I stand on all issues. Love me or hate me, I know who my friends are. We talk about church and state. We love all faiths of people, and God says we are all equal. Everybody is welcome to display in front of the State House with permission. This is America. Why should we worry about what people coming to live in Concord think?

My four grandparents were from Canada. They all learned English and became American citizens. We all worked hard to survive in the mill yards of Manchester. Slowly, we are losing our ground as to what we can say or do. We must speak up for our people and help others along the way. We should have the backs of our police and firefighters, and ICE and Border Patrol agents.

Please, let’s all work together and love all people and stop the hate. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. God bless our America.
