An article by NHPR’s Annie Ropeik in the Dec. 2 Monitor, “GOP lawmakers call for pause on efficiency goals,” highlights the height of shortsightedness on the part of GOPers in the N.H. House.
New efficiency measures will cost New Hampshire residential customers less than 1% more, and pay back three times what they cost. There is the added benefit of helping to stem the worst impacts of a climate crisis that is transforming iconic New Hampshire winters – with all the associated revenues – into a state with the weather of the Carolinas, at the rate things are warming.
What’s not to like? Energy efficiency, like our kids’ education, is like money in the bank. Please encourage your elected representatives to support wise New Hampshire energy efficiency.
