Letter: Votes for Watters, Innis are votes for NH’s animals

Every day, elected officials make choices that determine the fate of animals. Only some choose to use their voices to speak for those that cannot speak themselves. State Senator David Watters is a longtime leader on animal protection issues. He serves on the Governor’s Commission on the Humane Treatment of Animals, and has sponsored a range of bills addressing barbaric, wasteful wildlife killing contests; cruel product testing on animals; the vicious, unsporting use of “hounding” in hunting; increased regulation of New Hampshire’s breeders, and more.
State Senator Dan Innis is leading the charge to crack down on cruel puppy mills, by working to cut off the puppy mill pipeline from pet stores in the state of New Hampshire. This past session he also introduced the new law banning New Hampshire residents from betting online on dog races. As a farm owner himself, Innis understands firsthand that animals are family, and these values shine through in his leadership and policymaking. It says a lot about a candidate the way they perceive animals. And Sens. Watters and Innis are ready to continue standing up to animal cruelty. This is why both have earned the endorsement of Humane Society Legislative Fund. Animals only win when humane candidates like Sens. David Watters and Dan Innis do. I hope you’ll join me in supporting their re-election to the New Hampshire State Senate.
