Letter: A vote for electric vehicles

When our family went shopping for our first electric vehicle, we were dismayed to find out that we could not buy one in New Hampshire. We had to go to a Massachusetts dealer to get our car. Two years later, we love our EV so much that we are shopping for a plug-in hybrid model that is, guess what, not available in New Hampshire.

I would love to give our business to a New Hampshire dealer. The blockade is from the vehicle manufacturers that require states to adopt the California Clean Air Act Section 177 standards for vehicles in order to receive shipments of EVs. New Hampshire is the odd state out and is harming our health, our economy and our climate in the process.

There is a solution! House Bill 1444 would open up the sale of pollution-fighting EVs in this state. Urge your reps to vote yes for EVs.
