Brewster Academy, coached by Merrimack Valley graduate Jason Smith, beat Proctor Academy in the opening game of the showcase, 104-75. Brewster, which won the National Prep Championship last year and went 33-0, was led by Buddy Boeheim (21 points), Derek Culver (16 points) and Miles Norris (14 points). Boeheim will play for his father, Jim Boeheim, next year at Syracuse, while Culver is committed to West Virginia and Norris to Oregon. Mykel Derring had a team-high 17 points for Proctor and Manchester’s Bol Akot added 12 points.
