Appreciative of grant

The Friends of the Merrimack River Greenway Trail are happy to announce they’ve been awarded one of ten grants presented by the Granite State Wheelers. Each $2,500 grant was awarded to organizations with projects contributing to bicycle safety, education, and ridership expansion. The FMRGT plans to use our grant toward the design and installation of eight wayfinding signs at high-visibility road crossings throughout the city. The purpose of this project is to increase awareness of our bike path location, both future and completed. Residents who are aware of the trail effort anxiously await its creation. Those who are not aware of the trail will be informed of its progress and existence. These wayfinding signs, or trail markers, will be an excellent way of catching the eye and building awareness of the forthcoming trail.

The city and the FMRGT are working hard to establish Concord’s very own paved bike/pedestrian trail. There is much going on behind the scenes and we are encouraged by the progress the trail has seen in the last few years.

The FMRGT would like to thank the Granite State Wheelers for their generosity, for making our project possible, and for their commitment to promoting safety, education, and camaraderie through the shared love of cycling.
