Mark your calendars and plan to make Henniker your destination on Tuesday nights from June 11 to Sept. 3 for the Henniker Summer Concert Series at its new time: 6 to 8 p.m. in Community Park. The big news this year is we have added an additional week to the series, extending it to 13 weeks.

Fourteen bands will grace the Angela Robinson Bandstand, seven returning bands and lots of new talent and favorite groups from the past we haven’t seen in awhile. There will be special tributes to Jimmy Buffet, the return of our favorite Beatles Tribute Band – Studio Two. Not Fade Away, the Grateful Dead tribute band returns for a third year as does The Blues, Brews and BBQ Festival with Frankie Boy & Blues Express and Great Groove Theory.

Other new groups joining us include: Rumboat Chili, Carolyn Ramsey Band, Matt Carbonello, the Tall Granite Big Band and Island Castaways.

The season concludes on Tuesday, Sept. 3 with our favorite party band – NOB (Nick’s Other Band) featuring Deering’s Reed Cullen, fiddler extraordinaire.

The series is sponsored by the Town of Henniker and local businesses and organizations including: The Lions Club, New England College, Henniker Massage, Henniker Pharmacy, Dunkin/89 Donuts, Henniker Rotary, Pats Peak, Henniker Brewery, Ciardelli Fuel, Edmunds ACE Hardware, The Country Spirit, Henniker Chamber of Commerce, White Birch Center, Devine & Millimet Law Firm, Pearsons Jewelry, Inc, Hillsboro Ford and Henniker Family Dentists. Studio Two is sponsored in part by donations from the Friends of Henniker Concert Series and will feature a Meet and Greet with Studio Two’s John, Paul, George and Ringo prior to the concert for the “Friends.”

Each show will have a food truck or restaurant on site, or you can bring a picnic supper or purchase dinner at a local Henniker eatery. Food vendors this year are: Franky’s Concessions, Country Spirit, Dube Dogs, Taco Beyondo, Wicked Tasty, Abigail’s Bakery, Dollar Shy Farm (BBQ) and Tola Rose Italian Eatery.

In the event of inclement weather shows will move indoors to the adjacent Community Center.
